7 Uses of Onions Skin that would surprise you!

The saying that goes, Nothing is a waste” is indeed true.

1- Relieve muscle cramps:Boil onion skins for 10-20 minutes making an infusion. Drain the skins from the water and drink it as a tea before bed to help relieve muscle cramps.

2- Induce sleepAs a natural sleep aid, brew up a cup of onion skin tea. Simply pour boiling water over several onion skins, cover and let soak for fifteen minutes. Strain the tea (or use a tea ball) and enjoy.

3- Hair growth: The dry and ingrowing hair could be treated with the use of onion peels. Mix onion peels in water and boil. Then wash hair with regular shampoo. Then rinse hair with this solution so that hair becomes soft, smooth and also eliminates dandruff.

4- Skin problems: Onion skin has healing properties so it is helpful in treating rashes, skin inflammation and itching. Rub onion peels on infected area to get an instant relief.

5- Mulch your garden: Use the leftover onion skins for mulching. The dry peels will decompose soon and enrich your soil with potassium and calcium

6- Die Your Fabric and Wool: Not only the eggs, but one of the best onion skin uses is, it can also be used to die thread, fabric, and wool naturally.

7- Make Onion Skin Fertilizer: Don’t throw away the onion skins, use them to create organic potassium-rich fertilizer for all your plants growing indoors or outdoors. Using it will increase their disease resistance, growth, strong stems, and productivity. This onion skin fertilizer will also be rich in Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, and Copper.

To make, take 2-3 handfuls or a bowl of onion skins and soak them in 1-liter water for the next 24 hours. The water will be colored and thick, strain it in a jar. Your onion skin tea fertilizer is ready. Feed your plants with it 3-4 times in a month, experiment and share the results.
